Cate Michels loves history, and stories of ordinary people living in extraordinary times. She believes the Midwest is more than fly-over country and loves writing stories inspired by characters grounded in these areas. She’s an avid reader of history—fiction and non-fiction and loves to imagine people’s lives from days gone by. Her favorite book, next to the Bible, is the thesaurus because searching for the exact right word is (usually) a fun and rewarding journey. Cate loves to travel with her husband and two adult sons because everyone enjoys museums and historical sites. She is working on a historical fiction trilogy set between America’s entrance into the Great War and the days just before the beginning of the Second World War.
